Smelled great in the parking lot and the food tastes even better! I loved to mac and cheese along with the beef brisket and pulled pork. Great place to eat and the free ice cream is awesome.

WOW! Without a doubt, the best pulled pork and barbecue sauce I've ever had. The pork was so tender, it was like butter. I had the pulled pork sandwich, mac n cheese, potato salad and pecan pie. The potato salad and mac n cheese were creamy and delicious and the pecan pie was just as good. The only bad thing is that I live so close, I'll probably put on a few pounds ;-)

Look out Sonny's, you've got some real competition! We both got the brisket platter, the meat was fork tender, the sauces were great. I got green beans with bacon and Mac and cheese for my two sides, my sis got Mac and cheese and fried okra. With the platter we also had a dinner roll. We both got drinks and if we return with our cups we can get refills for $1.00. Everyone could get free soft serve ice cream but we had no room, we actually took almost a full dinner between us home.

I can't believe it's a chain. The brisket is amazing! Get there early as this is truly cooked fresh daily and they run out of brisket towards the end of the night. I like the 2 meat platter with the ribs as my second meat. Not a fan of the green beans as they use some sort of giant hybrid of beans I've never seen in a grocery before and they don't have collards. The mac & cheese is just ok. But hey, you're here for the meat anyways. Oh, did I mention free soft serve ice cream? That is, if you're not too full to have anything afterwards.

Friendly service, good food. Pulled pork and brisket were tender and smoked just right. Free ice cream was an added bonus.

The food was good. I had the 2 meat dinner with ribs and brisket with Mac and cheese and waffle fries. The flavor of the barbecue was good but it could have been warmer. The Mac and cheese and fries were very tasty. The warm barbecue sauce bar was a nice addition as well to the free soft serve ice cream. It was also pricy for the portion. Overall pretty good.

What is the best barbeque? I don't think I have ever tasted anything that would be considered "the best BBQ before," and I'm no spring chicken. This makes me wonder if I will live the rest of my depressing life never knowing the flavor of exceptional barbeque. Woe is me, too bad I NEVER plan on visiting Texas. Oh, this is supposed to be a review? My bad. Dicky's BBQ could easily be a weekly staple for my family. They have daily specials that are cheap and the quality of the que is decent. Easily, I leave Dicky's with an overstuffed belly and a to-go box for under $10. Order at the front counter with the meat guys on the left, check the daily specials as well. Que here is served on a metal tray covered in wax paper. 1-3 meats, 2 sides, and a sweet roll. Check out at the register and take a novelty souvenier yellow Dicky's cup. This cup will be a mainstay in your household, remind ya'll to come back nohw, and to always always keep it classy. Turn around and awe at the splendor of the drink bar. Sauces are serve-yourself style on the bar, there is; sweet, original, and spicy. I like all of them, and they are served in a warmer. Drinks are free refill and self serve, on texturally impressive crushed ice. Most importantly, on the left of the bar is the self service ice cream machine. Yes! Want to make the best float ever? Put vanilla ice cream in your sweet tea. Seat yourself and keep it clean. Ribs (pork only) are rubbed down to perfection, pulled pork is surprisingly badass, and brisket is off-the-chain rainbow goodness with burnt ends as a bonus. Hot damn. I am always thrown off at how good their customer service is at Dicky's and how cheerful the employees are. Their happiness always catches me off guard, especially since there is no tip slot on the credit card receipts.

Just tried Dickeys barbecue for the first time The ribs were great!!! The staff were very helpful. I'm from michigan on vacation. I will come back again.

Nothing like some good old fashioned BBQ and top off with free ice cream! Dickey's has some great bbq and the atmosphere is clean and bright. Staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are great and the helpings plentiful. They have a free ice cream cones for afterwards, self serve. I'm a big fan of the brisket salad - iceberg lettuce, brisket and onion straws topped with ranch dressing. I could eat it all day every day. Pro tip - bring your cup back for 99¢ drink instead of full price.

Great bbq and slaw. Chopped brisket was flavorful and incredibly moist. I enjoyed the warmed barbecue sauce. The baked beans were a little unusual in flavor, I can't quite pin point the seasoning that makes them just a little to bitter for me. The portion size was perfect. I even saw that I could help myself to complimentary ice cream. Just under 12.00 for a sandwich, two sides and a small refillable drink- plus a bonus dessert. A little pricy, which is why 4 versus 5 stars. Overall, a yummy bbq joint. Clean and friendly too. I'll be back.

Pretty decent bbq joint. The brisket and other meats meat in general are really good and have this nice smoked flavor. They don't use too much bbq sauce, but have a bbq sauce station where you get get it on the side. I like the spicy version of the bbq sauce. I have enjoyed most of the sides I have had from this place (fries, casseroale, fried okra, etc). Also, you can't go wrong with the free ice cream!! The workers also tend to be friendly. I just wish the portions were a tad larger for the price you pay (aka a little more expensive than other places, but not by a significant amount)

It's starts with great ownership, friendly employees and it trickles all the way down to the last drop of their delicious Spicy BBQ sauce On your lips. The sides are fantastic and everything is always hot, fresh and super tasty. Only eat the Brisket dine in and the turkey is no good. I only held back on the 5th all important star due to the strange Turkey.

First time here. We ordered the family meal togo. Brisket was excellent!! Perfectly tender. Mac and cheese was also creamy and flavorful. Smoked chicken was a bit dry. Coleslaw had a great texture, but a bit bland.

The pork and beef combo sandwich is great and the ribs are spot on, enough smoke flavor and char but still pull off the bone. Mac and cheese is tasty and the fried onions and waffle fries were great, now I need to try some more of the menu items.

Yum! We go on Sundays when kids eat free. Family of 5 eats dinner for under $25. Bar-b-q is yummy, nice portions, and free ice cream. I like pulled pork and the beef brisket, if you go late they may be sold out of some meats. My only complaint is the dining room is small and during dinner time there is a long wait for food and sometimes a seat. Despite this it's a family favorite.

Food is very good. People are very nice, doesn't feel like fast food. Pulled Pork & Ribs are great!!!!!! A special mention for George!

Really REALLY good BBQ not quite the next level BBQ that you get a the really best places but still really good. Yes it is a chain I've never acquired the notachain fetish that some of my fellow yelpers have. I've had great meals at chains and terrible meals at mom and pop places. This place is awesome, good BBQ fast and reasonably priced. The service is always friendly. Perfect for lunch or some take out for dinner. Be aware that they will be crowded at peak times and, because it is actual BBQ they will run out of stuff at the end of the day. There is free soft serve vanilla ice cream and once you have one of their big yellow cups (I have like, 5) drinks are only a dollar. They also have a loyalty card that doesn't take long to fill up and once you do you get a free BBQ sandwich. I had one filled up today so my lunch of a sandwich, two sides and a sweet tea was like 4 dollars and change. So yes I gave them 5 stars not because it's the best BBQ on the planet but because they do what they set out to do. Provide good 'Q fast and reasonably priced.

Quality bbq in a casual, rustic atmosphere. We've ordered take out a few times & it has been consistently very good. Ate in for the first time recently & my mouth was actually watering while we were standing in line to order! The aroma from the smokers etc are awesome. The atmosphere is casual - you place your order at the counter, pour your own drink & find a seat, but it's definitely not fast-foodish. The country decor & music adds to the rustic feel. I noted that they also have cajun fried turkeys you can order for the holidays-tempting!

First time in St. Petersburg, FL. Found Dickey's on YELP and they DO NOT disappoint! Our food was delicious!! GREAT, GREAT BBQ. And there's free soft serve ice cream to top it off! I'm for sure going to look them up in my area. I highly recommend it.

First visit today but we will definitely return!! Warm BBQ sauce, free ice cream and awesome employees! Oh...exceptional BBQ!! Love this place!! Wish we had one in Orlando!

The BBQ meat had great smoked flavor and was really moist. My husband ordered the brisket (one meat) meal that came with two sides & a roll. He gave me a bite of his brisket & I wanted to steal his meal! There was enough meat for two people to share and his sides of jalapeño (baked) beans & waffle fries were also very good. I don't usually like BBQ baked beans (because they are two sweet), but these were really flavorful & I would order these myself. I had the salad, which was a really good salad served with ranch dressing, however my meat was chilled so it did not have as good of flavor as my husband's warm brisket. I won't order the salad very often since the BBQ meals are worth the calorie splurge. We did not realize each meal comes with a free serve yourself ice cream cone so won't forget that next time. This could easily become our favorite BBQ joint!

Decent bbq and free soft-serve! We were in the area and enjoyed our visit. The staff was great and the establishment was certainly nostalgic. Fries are made fresh to order.

Decent BBQ. Rib meat fell right off the bone into my pie hole. Cheddar sausage was a nice change up. Rolls were tasty without adding any butter. Mac n cheese was a little industrial tasting. No need for thick plastic cups that I'm sure 80% get thrown out. Maybe a little pricier than other places but not significantly, of course I do expect to pay less when it's counter order and pick-up service.

When an office I had lunch with, suggested Dickey's I was excited to try something different. When I arrived to pick up the order, I noticed how clean the restaurant was. It's a quick serve type of place-meaning you order your food, pay for it and have a seat in the dining area. I noticed quite a few people stopping in during their lunch break. The employees were extremely friendly and service was quick! We had the 4 pack family meal which was 2 meats (we ordered double pulled pork), 3 sides (coleslaw, Mac n cheese and mashed potato casserole). It comes with rolls and I added on baked beans. Everything was fine. Nothing stood out as exceptional, but nothing was bad either. I think with all the good local smokers in the area, it's hard to compare GREAT BBQ with chain BBQ. Would I go out of my way? No. But if someone wanted food from here, I wouldn't contest either. I don't know how they'll do here though. It's in an odd location and you'd miss it if you weren't on the lookout for it. We shall see.

We are regulars here! Always a super friendly staff and fresh BBQ! Sides are delish... Especially the fried okra. Free ice cream is a hit with the kids... Speaking of kids... They eat free here on Sunday's with a paying adult. We love Dickey's!

I had the pulled pork sandwich. The bun was so good I would've eaten just that, but the pork made it even better. Choose your own sauce and free soft serve ice cream everyday. Love this place

Dickey's meat is really good, especially the chicken. It's the best bbq in town that I've had. I don't care for any of the sides though. Your best off getting just a sandwich or salad and avoid the sides. You can't beat free ice cream too with your meal!

I never thought a chain BBQ joint could be so fantastic !!! The brisket is juicy and tender. The cheddar jalepeno sausage is amazing :) I love the fact that the sauce is NOT sweet...it's just right. For sides I love their creamy Mac n Cheese and the jalepeno baked beans. If you save the plastic drink cup, next visit bring it back and the refill is only $1. Top all that off with free ice cream for dessert :) I can't say enough nice things about the staff either...very nice group of people !! I think they need to expand the dining room :)

Saw this restaurant on yelp about 6 months ago while in town for a concert. Stopped in and it was excellent! Today I was in the area working and picked up a family pack. Brisket awesome, pulled pork great, sides great. Love the sweet sauce. Met Jim the manager/franchisee he went above and beyond my expectations. Great BBQ joint!! Thanks Jim

Love it. Just finished eating there for the first time. Great food, inexpensive, and nice atmosphere. Never heard of Dickey's until I passed it the other day and then checked them out on line. Decided to give them a shot and glad I did. Not sure about other Dickey's locations, but the one on Tyrone Blvd. is great. I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

We ate pulled the pulled pork sandwiches and were delighted with the taste. The buns were especially soft and delicious. Not sure where the baked beans came from, but they were good! Free Soft serve vanilla ice cream cone was an added bonus. The staff was very friendly and accommodating even though we showed up at 9pm. Highly recommend!

I had higher expectations, especially after all the raving reviews that are posted. It's just regular BBQ food! Still good for the price, but I didn't think it was that impressive. We might give it another try at another time if the good reviews keep going.

Great bbq. I love their mac and cheese, as well as their other sides. The brisket is extremely tender, and so is the pork. You also get free ice cream so that never hurts, lol.

  • Nick E.

Very good food, just as good if you were going to a served sit down restaurant. Now the price is also the same so I'd rather go to a place where I can be served if I'm gonna give up that type of money. Nice little restaurant, food is up to par for what I've had from here. Price just needs to be fixed. Check it out though

Some coworkers brought us lucnh from here the other day and everything was delicious! We tried all the meats, mashed potatoes, and rolls! The meat was flavorful and spicy, the mashed potatoes savory and chunky, and the rolls buttery and doughy! Loved them!

  • Grant R.

Tried all the meats by becoming hooked and going here at least 6 times already. Take a few pounds meat home or get a good meal there with a large selection of side dishes to choose from. There are 3 sauces to choose from all kept hot and serve yourself. Try the brisket, ribs, ham and the sweet BBQ sauce. This place is good meaning it will get pretty busy at lunch time and if you're getting the order to go order online.

I've been there twice for lunch this week. It's fast fresh and super tasty. Fresh fast friendly and tasty. Try the deal of the day it's a great value.

I've been here a few times now since it opened and it's been great every time. I normally get the daily deals on my lunch break and it's a nice amount of food at a good price. The meat is always moist and the sides are delicious.

This place is OK at best. I love BBQ but for the price I may as well go to Champions. This is another chain restaurant that does BBQ alright. Its definitely better than Sonny's and if you are in the mood for BBQ and this is the only place around it would be fine. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. I ordered the 1 meat meal with Brisket, Mac N Cheese, and green beans. The green beans were pretty good, the Mac n cheese was boring, and the brisket was REALLY salty. That was before I put any BBQ sauce on it. They do have free soft serve ice cream so that's kinda cool but for my meal it was $10.17 and the amount of brisket I received was not worth the price. That doesn't even include a drink...So all in all I say its not bad, but not great.
